Freddy the Frog is very much just like you.
He doesn't love work, but does what he has to.
He does like to help folk, as all will admit,
And Freddy the Frog is one who won't quit.

Once Freddy was working like a good little frog,
Just planting more plants in his blueberry bog,
When down the road, stumbling, came Archibald Toad.
He shouted to Frog, "Help me now with this load."

Freddy rushed over to help with the sack,
And to his surprise, Toad put it all on his back.
Then before Frog could stop him, the Toad ran away.
"Hold it Frog," growled a voice, and a hand made him stay.

Farmer Bull Frog was shouting, "As sure as I'm born,
Never thought that you, Frog, would steal my corn!
When I tell the sheriff, you'll be put in the Pen."
Freddy mumbled that it wouldn't happen again.

Freddy Frog didn't see Toad for quite a long time,
Until Toad came over as if all was fine.
"What's to eat," he exclaimed, diving into Frog's pantry.
Belching loudly, he left saying, "Now you come see me."

"I don't understand him," Freddy said with a sigh.
"I know that down deep he's a really nice guy.
Now, here's what I'll do at the end of the day,
I'll go talk to my friend so he'll see things my way."
                 ______________________

That's just what he did.  He put on his best vest,
And went to see Toad, his friendship to test.
Toad saw him and called, "In your wildest dream,
Won't believe what I have for you....some cream!"

"It's down at a farm.  I'll help get it home.
This proves that our friendship is solid as stone."
So together they went down the lane, arm in arm,
And found a big bucket on old Bull Frog's farm.

"Here's your present," Toad said.  "Now the trick is to move it.
Let's think of a plan.  I think best when I sit."
To see his gift better, Freddy jumped up on top,
But there his foot slipped.  He fell in with a plop!
                 ______________________

"Help me out," Freddy called, "For I just can't hop!
My feet won't touch bottom, or my hand reach the top!"
Toad grinned at the Frog.  In his hand was a cup.
"First fill this for me, then I'll pull you up."

"What!" cried poor Freddy.  "Friends just don't use friends.
I can see this relation has come to an end."
"OK," cried the Toad, "If no cream, I go home."
So Freddy had to swim for his life all alone.

Poor Freddy felt sick, though he wouldn't admit,
For the very first time, he was ready to quit.
But he paddled and paddled as if in a bad dream
    But, in the morning......

...Surprise!  He had churned up whipped cream!
                 ______________________

The Bull Frog found Freddy and there heard his tale.
Bull said "With that Toad, any friendship would fail.
Now, you did the work, so take half the cream home,
And do visit us often, since you live alone."
                 ______________________

For Freddy the Frog all was well in the end.
He got a fine gift and found a new friend.
So, if you have a problem that's like a bad dream,
Don't quit.  Keep on paddling and turn it into whipped cream.
